This is a work-in-progress decompilation of Sonic the Fighters for the Model 2B arcade board. The repository is meant to hold buildable code, using GCC-like tools, that produces the executable binaries needed to run the game's data. The author describes it as the result of many years of work on understanding AM2's arcade engine from the early to mid 1990s.

The README credits several researchers, including contributors who found the debug mode and who documented the 80960 architecture. You need the original game data.

Highlights

  • Targets the Model 2B arcade hardware
  • Aims for buildable GCC-style source
  • Built on long-term research into AM2's engine
  • Debug mode research that made documenting the code easier
