openmw-web is a WebAssembly build of OpenMW, the open-source reimplementation of The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. The whole engine runs client-side in a desktop browser with no plugins or streaming, and no game data is included: you bring your own legally owned copy.

Version 1.2.0 added an admin dashboard so you can run your own server from a browser. Multiplayer arrived in 1.1.0 and sits behind an experimental flag. Self-hosting uses Docker and a prebuilt server image.

Highlights

  • Engine runs fully in the browser through WebAssembly
  • Admin dashboard with setup wizard and drag-to-order mod manager
  • Tamriel Rebuilt support, savegame export, backups and logs
  • Experimental multiplayer
  • Cloud locker for your own game data
