Yu-Gi-Oh! Forbidden Memories (PS1, USA) rebuilt as a native PC game for Windows and Linux, with a macOS ARM64 source build. It is not a static recompilation: the game code was decompiled by hand into C that matches the original byte for byte, then ported to PC. You bring your own USA disc image; the only included game content is the text of the European translations.
On first launch you pick your disc's .bin file, and saves from an emulator memory card can be loaded by copying them into the port's saves folder. The game can check for updates, which can be turned off.
Highlights
- Up to 4x internal resolution, widescreen and HD text
- 3D Monsters that appear on the field as their battle models, and an optional HD pack with redrawn cards
- Mod framework for new cards beyond the original 722, fusions, textures, music and tables, plus FM Editor to make mods without JSON
- Save slots, fusion helper, drop rates and rebindable controls
- English, French, German, Italian and Spanish text from the European releases
