SuperMetroidRecomp recompiles Super Metroid (SNES) into native C with the snesrecomp framework, taking an LLE-first approach. It is the per-game side of the framework, part of the R.A.I.D. community, and runs on Windows and Linux with your own ROM.
On Windows x64 the pinned framework uses cached HLE frame composition by default, with a separate low-level compositor available at build time for correctness checks. The author reports a measured uncapped route going from about 428 to 1259 FPS, noting that this describes that specific build and route and that normal play keeps normal pacing and audio.
Highlights
- Native C generated from the game's CPU code
- Cached frame composition on Windows
- Optional LLE compositor for correctness checks
- Build-time selection of frame implementation
